Our privacy promise

Plain English, because the people reading it include kids.

The short version: we keep only what Yoeti needs to work. No ads, no tracking, no selling data, ever. You can delete your family's accounts at any time.

What we keep

WhatWhy
A child's nickname, username and password (stored scrambled)So they can log in. We suggest usernames that aren't real names.
A profile picture, if they add oneShown to them, their friends and grown-ups. Checked by a parent first.
Their posts, reactions, poll votes and who they followThat's the app.
A grown-up's name and emailFor the grown-up's login and to record their consent. We don't send marketing.
Who invited whom, and when consent was givenSo friends can see each other, and so we can show consent was given.

We don't collect dates of birth, schools, locations, contacts or phone numbers, and we don't use analytics or advertising cookies. The app stores your login on your own device so you stay signed in.

Who sees what

  • Approved posts can be seen by everyone signed in to Yoeti. That's a small, invite-only group.
  • Profiles (nickname and picture) are visible only to the child, their Yoeti friends and grown-ups.
  • Grown-ups who joined by invite can see their own child's activity, not anyone else's.
  • The parent who runs Yoeti reviews posts before they go live and can see accounts in order to keep everyone safe.

Services we use

  • Supabase: stores accounts, posts and pictures.
  • Cloudflare: delivers the website and app.
  • Anthropic (Claude): runs the AI safety check on pictures and text. Content is sent only to be checked, not to train AI models.
  • GIPHY: some channels are topped up with G-rated GIFs from GIPHY. Your child's own posts aren't sent there.

How long we keep things

  • Posts that aren't approved are deleted after about a week.
  • Kids can delete their own posts at any time.
  • When an account is deleted, its login, profile, picture, reactions, votes and follows are deleted straight away. Posts it made stay up but no longer show who made them; ask us if you'd like those removed too.

Your choices

Grown-ups can see, pause or delete their child's account from their grown-up page at any time. If you'd like a copy of your family's data or anything removed, ask the family who invited you and we'll sort it.
