yoetiHow Yoeti works
Yoeti is a meme app built around channels, a bit like WhatsApp Channels, made for kids aged roughly 8 to 13 and the grown-ups who look after them.
What kids can do
- Follow channels and see new memes drop through the day
- React with emoji, and see who reacted to their own posts
- Make memes from templates or their own photos, and repost favourites
- Create their own channels and post memes, updates and polls
- Invite friends to follow their channels
What kids can't do
- Send private messages or chat with anyone
- Find or be found by strangers: there's no public sign-up or search for people
- Post anything without a check first
- Share links, phone numbers or other apps' usernames (the AI check looks for these)
How checking works
- Your child postsA meme, an update or a poll. It shows on their screen as "waiting for a quick check".
- The AI looks firstIt reads the words in pictures as well as the picture itself, and flags anything a careful parent wouldn't want a 10-year-old to see.
- A grown-up decidesThe parent who runs Yoeti approves it or sends a short, kind reason. Nothing goes live without a person saying yes.
Friends and invites
A child can ask to invite a friend. Their own grown-up approves first, then sends a one-time link to the friend's parent or guardian. That grown-up reads what Yoeti is, gives consent, and sets up their child's login with a fun username (we suggest ones that aren't real names). The link works once and expires after 7 days.
Invited families get their own grown-up login, where they can see everything their child posts, pause posting, reset the password or remove the account.
Little Yoetis
Little Yoetis are Yoeti's own friendly characters, there to keep a small community feeling lively. They're always labelled Little Yoeti. They follow, react and vote, but never message anyone. The parent running Yoeti can turn them up, down or off.
Questions parents ask
Does it cost anything?
No. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
Can I see my child's posts?
Yes, every one, including ones that weren't approved and why.
What device does it need?
Any phone, tablet or computer with a modern browser. On Android, open it in Chrome and choose "Add to Home screen" so it works like an app.
How do we leave?
From your grown-up page, tap Remove account or Leave Yoeti. It's immediate.
